15th ANNUAL NJB HAWAI'I BASKETBALL CLASSIC
July 16-20, 2008 (Wednesday to Sunday)

Boys and girls (ages 10-17) basketball tournament in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Sponsored by National Junior Basketball and the
Hawai'i Chapter of National Junior Basketball.
DIVISIONS (AGE):
BOYS: 12-Under, 6th Grade; 14-Under, 8th Grade; 17-Under, 12th Grade
GIRLS: 12-Under, 14-Under, and 17-Under.
Boys -- Eligibility age cut-off determined as of September 1, 2008.
Girls -- Eligibility age cut-off determined as of January 1, 2008.
Must be of age on that day.
A player may participate on only one tournament team.
Coaches are responsible for ensuring compliance with eligibility requirements.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND AWARDS
Game times and locations to be announced. Each team guaranteed to play 4 games. If the team advances into championship round, the team could play 2 additional games. Individual trophies for Championship team and 2nd place team. Team plaques for Consolation Champions.
Playoff format based upon standings after pool play.
Mandatory Coaches' Meeting will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2008.
Location: To Be Announced; you will be notified by e-mail.
Tournament Schedules will be passed out at the Coaches' Meeting.
Team should be available to play beginning 3 p.m. Wednesday July 16, 2008.
ENTRY DEADLINE, TOURNAMENT FEES
AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Tournament Package: Registration Form; Team Roster; Tournament Fee; and Player Insurance Fees.
Deadlines:
May 15, 2008 - deadline for sending in the Registration Form and Tournament Fee.
June 15, 2008 - deadline for sending in the Team Roster Form and the per player insurance fee. Team Roster Forms must be accompanied by birth certificates for all players. Coaches must bring an additional set of birth certificates to all games. Verification of NJB affiliation is required if seeking waiver of insurance fees. Team Roster and insurance fee not received by deadline cannot guarantee spot. Spot will be reserved for teams that have submitted complete packages by June 15, 2008.
Fee: The tournament fee is $350 per team, plus $5.00 per player for player insurance, if player not a member of NJB-affiliated program for the current year.
Forms and fees may be mailed to Matt A. Tsukazaki at 733 Bishop Street, Suite 1770, Honolulu, Hawai'i 96813. All fees should be paid by cashier's check or money order made out to "NJB Hawai'i".
Note: Register and pay your Tournament Fee early (before May 15, 2008) to reserve a spot. Tournament Package must be completed to guarantee the spot. If Tournament Package is not completed by June 15, 2008, team may lose spot to another team that completes the Tournament Package by the deadline. All fees are non-refundable after June 15, 2008. We require at least 8 teams in each division. Once the slots are filled, additional teams will be only accepted at the discretion of the tournament directors. If there are insufficient teams to support the division, the division may be closed and all payments refunded.
